Arsenal, Unai Emery issues statement on future after Gunners draw with Wolves
Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, has said he is not currently in discussions over a new deal with the club.
The Spaniard stated this following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Wolves on Saturday.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave the Gunners the lead in the first half, before Raul Jimenez headed in the equalizer with 14 minuted left.
Emery says he feels “the responsibility” to improve results after Wolves fought back to claim a merited Premier League point at the Emirates.
When asked by the club’s official website, if he feels his position is under threat, Emery replied:
“I am very demanding of myself. I feel every time my responsibility to work and to come back from the result with the next matches.”
Boos rang out inside the stadium as a turbulent week for the club ended with Arsenal collecting just their second point from the last nine available.
On his contract, the former Sevilla and PSG boss said: “We are speaking about how we can improve and take the good way, and also being calm in the dressing room with the players to achieve performances individually and collectively.
“These are the conversations at this time.”
