Several People Slum As Crowd Show Up For Atiku’s Campiagn In Kano

Six of those who fainted were six males, while the remaining three were females.

Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, took his campaign to Kano State, North-West Nigeria, on Sunday with a massive crowd turning out for his rally.

The venue of the rally, the Sani Abacha Stadium, was packed and more than 12 persons had to be taken out of the stadium by security officials after they slumped in the crowd.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar,  promised to restore Kano’s lost glory as the hub of commence, industry and agriculture if elected.

Atiku made the promise while addressing a mammoth crowd of party supporters at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano State on Sunday.

The PDP presidential candidate and members of his campaign council had on arrival in Kano visited the Mambiya House, home of the late leader of the Peoples Redemption Party, Aminu Kano.

The campaign team also visited the Palace of the Emir of Kano, Mohammed Sanusi II, who received them and prayed for peaceful elections in the country.

Top PDP officials and members at the rally included the Director-General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Bukola Saraki; PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus; and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Movement within and around the facility was difficult as a result of the crowd.

The surging crowd prevented the open bus which conveyed Akitu and other party leaders from reaching the podium initially prepared for Atiku to present his speech. This forced the PDP candidate to present his short address from the bus.

Atiiku said, “Vote for the PDP; if you vote the PDP, I promise that I will restore Kano’s lost  glory. The wealth of Kano is in its trade and commerce; the wealth of Kano is in its agriculture. I make this solemn pledge today to revive all these sectors which have been killed.
